Slide Show #5 ---NEW! School groups who visit our Cottage learn how hard children used to work. Only after they have done their share of collecting eggs, carrying water, dying cloth, or churning butter, do they get to play old-fashioned games like ring toss, marbles, or horseshoes! (thanks Docent Marilyn!)
Slide Show #6 ---NEW! Our gift shop follows the Tollkeepers’ tradition – waste not, want not! We make our sales goods from recycled materials whenever possible – the wool from a sweater with a moth hole turns into a new pair of mitts! People give us leftover knitting wool, for socks, doll’s clothes, and hats. We make door snakes from left over cloth. We also sell used books, and books on history. We publish material on local history, and walking tours of the neighbourhood.(email us about delivery during the pandemic)
